I can't say enough about Rosemary. We had a strange situation where I arbitrarily called an agent to show us properties without doing much research. We looked at a few properties and found something we liked. We began the process of putting together an offer and realized I wasn't comfortable with our representation. I didn't feel the confidence I wanted to feel for such a large purchase. I called a realtor friend from home in CT for her advice and she referred us to Rosemary. The second I spoke to Rosemary I knew that she was our agent. I immediately felt she knew just what to do and we were in the right hands. I was so relieved to feel the confidence I wanted. When dealing with Rosemary you know immediately that she's a seasoned agent with tons of experience with the BI real estate market. Rosemary will also be our rental agent for our new house and I have no doubt she will do a great job and take care of our house when we're not there. We checked the Block Island Times constantly, searching for a home we could afford and that was right for us.  When we started to get serious, we contacted Rosemary Tobin whom we had met while sitting at the bar at Eli’s (she’s not only a fabulous real estate agent, she’s a great bartender!).  We looked at lots of places, but none was quite right.  In December of 2010, we got an e-mail:  “There’s a house on the market, but it needs a lot of work and you’ll need to hurry.”  Three days later, we saw the house and put in our bid.  It was a crazy sale with multiple bidders.  One day we had it, the next day the deal had fallen through, the next week, we were back in.  Through it all, Rosemary maintained her optimism.  She found us a fabulous lawyer and made friends with the seller’s off-Island real estate agent. She claims our sale resulted in her first gray hairs, but all we know is that on March 15, 2011, thanks to Rosemary’s efforts, we had finally achieved our lifelong dream of owning a house on Block Island. When we were ready to rent out the house we’d bought from Rosemary, we turned to her and Lila Delman to handle our rentals.  Not only do they have a great screening process, they also supply the sheets, towels, beach chairs and boogie boards, something no other agency does. They make sure that our house is spotless for all of our tenants and they are there to handle any problem which might arise.

Dear Melanie and John – I wanted to drop you a note regarding two transactions we made on Block Island. As you may know, my wife Lisa and I bought a home on Graces Cove earlier this year and sold a home on the Island this week. In both instances we used Rosemary Tobin as our realtor. The house we purchased was first presented to us by Rosemary in November, 2011. That house was perfect for us. Rosemary waited for the right house to come on the market, saw an opportunity and presented us a house when we weren’t even in the market or even considering a new property. From the first visit to the closing a total of approximately 75 days elapsed. Following that purchase we put our other house on the market with Rosemary. From the initial listing, through the initial showings and ultimately the closing this week a total of approximately 100 days elapsed. I am not sure if anyone keeps records on Block Island, but it seems to me that when you have a realtor in your employ that can move almost $6,000,000 worth of real estate in such an expeditious manner that it is worthy of pausing and taking note, I think the milestone is even more impressive when you consider that we were not considering buying or selling. In my company I have 25,000 employees and we say that our most important assets go home every night. It appears that the same is true for you. You have a great asset in Rosemary. She knows the Island, she knows her clients, she knows the market and she knows how to move property.
